Clifton E. Nakatani, DDS, MSD
Dr. Clifton Nakatani, originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, has been practicing periodontics and implant dentistry since 1992. His academic journey began at the University Of Hawaii where he earned his undergraduate degree in biology in 1982. He later pursued his dental studies at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni, School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA., graduating in 1986. After earning his dental degree, he practiced general dentistry in Oakland, CA for a span of four years. He decided to apply to periodontal school and obtained his master’s degree and certificate in periodontology from Indiana School of Dentistry in Indianapolis in 1992.
Upon finishing his residency, Dr. Nakatani made his way back to California. Initially joining a practice in Berkeley as an associate for one year, he moved to Sacramento to open his periodontal practice in 1993.
What sets Dr. Nakatani apart in his field is his relentless quest for knowledge. He considers himself a lifelong student and is often found attending continuing education classes. He believes that this ongoing education enables him to provide superior dental care to his patients Furthermore, his commitment to continuous improvement serves as an inspiration to fellow practitioners fostering a culture of growth and passion within the dental community.
He enjoys a family life with his wife, Linda, and his son, David. David has been true to his word since the age of 5 when he claimed that he would never be a dentist! He works in media design. Linda has worked in the office since the Berkeley practice. Dr. Nakatani also loves many outdoor activities including waterskiing, snow skiing, hunting, and pickleball!
